Loads of Worksheets...BUSY TEACHERS!!?? (My Best Find till Now!!)

Busyteacher.org

 About it:
  • A superb site for really busy teachers...and lazy ones!!
  • Loads of worksheets for all four skills + pronunciation and grammar.
  • Lots of fun activities for teachers to try with their students.
  • Also, teaching ideas such as flashcards, warmers/fillers, classroom posters and so many other things.
  • What's great is that everything is for free once you register!
  • Worksheets for songs, videos, grammar lessons, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary etc.
  • You just have to find what suits your students level and theme of lesson and download various worksheets.
Significance:
  • Busyteacher.org helps teachers provide students with various activities that could be of interest and benefit to them.
  • All four skills would be developed when activities used wisely.
  • Great group/pair work activities, such as tongue twisters, role plays etc.
  • Great activities for individual work (Autonomy).
  •  Teaching ideas available for new teachers.
  • When you choose a worksheet to download it is usually followed up by teacher cmments, suggetion on how she/he used this worksheet in their class (Collaboration!).
  • Extremely engaging activities that would motivate students and break the ice for the shy ones!
  • Videos, songs and cartoons, authentic material for interesting lessons.
  • Activities for all levels.
Suggestions:

In Classroom:
  • The overwhelming amount of worksheets allows teachers to easily choose what is most suitable to their lesson plans.
  • Using role plays in class to motivate and engage students to speak the target language.
  • The "vocabulary" section is great because a large amount of topics/themes are available. Teachers have the chance to select worksheets that are suitable to the lesson being taught and have the students get familar with some related vocabulary as a warm up.
  • The grammar section is quite rich, teachers can seelct the worksheets they need and have students wrk on them in pairs/groups or individually, great practice and effortless for teachers.
  • Soo much material such as posters, flashcards, project ideas which could all be applied for all levels and ages (beginners, pre-intermediate, intermediate and advanced learners).
Outside Classroom:
  • Great for students once they register to search through the "A-Z" section for topics that interest them and try different activities and worksheets.
  • Parents of young learners at home could make use of busyteacher.org by downloading worksheets for their kids.
Shortcomings:
  • A disadvantage would be the disorganization of the level of the  material available.
  • Quite difficult and time consuming for teachers to search for activities that suit intermediate and advanced levels.
  • Video, song and cartoon worksheets would work best if were supported with the video, song, cartoon itself, because it would require the teacher to search for the material and link it with the worksheet available
